Question: Who has access to my personal Health Link record?
Answer: Access to your personal Health Link record will only be
given to those individuals you designate (usually other family
members and/or caregivers, or anyone you trust). In addition,
Emergency Room doctors and nurses will also be granted “read-only”
access to your personal Health Link record during the time of an
emergency so that they can help treat you quickly, accurately and
safely.
Question: What happens if I change insurance companies – how does my
record get updated?
Answer: You (or anyone whom you designate and trust) can update your
personal Health Link record at anytime 24 hours/day, 7days/week. A
change in insurer will not affect the information maintained in your
personal Health Link record.
Question: How can I update my personal Health Link record if I do
not own or have access to a computer?
Answer: You may call, mail or fax the Health Link Member Services
team with your update request. Our toll-free number is
1.866.402.2447, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Eastern
Time.
Question: I am an organ donor – can this information be stored in my
personal Health Link record?
Answer: Yes. This option is located in the advance directive section
located in your personal Health Link record.

Question: How long does it take from the time that my information is
updated to be live in my personal Health Link record?
Answer: Your personal and medical information is immediately live in
your personal Health Link record each time you make and save an
update.
Question: How is my personal Health Link record backed up?
Answer: Your personal health link record is backed up every day,
using similar back up technologies and procedures that are prevalent
among most large businesses.
Question: Is there any way that I can tell who has accessed my
personal Health Link record?
Answer: Yes. As a part of the Health Link service, clients have
access to log files for their accounts to see if, when and who,
accessed their information. Health Link also keeps a master audit
log file.
Question: My doctor uses electronic health records. Is there any way
to link my electronic health records to my personal Health Link
record?
Answer: Yes, the technologies may be integrated to include a web
link from your doctor’s electronic health record (depending on what
type of electronic health record system your doctor uses) to your
personal Health Link record.
Question: Can I change my password at any time? How long does it
take?
Answer: Yes. Your password can be changed at anytime 24 hours/day, 7
days/week. Once changed by you, the change will take place
immediately in the Health Link system.
