Question: What is RFID technology?
Answer: RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification Technology. There are two types of RFID technology, active and passive. Health Link uses PASSIVE RFID technology.

Question: What is the difference between active and passive RFID technology?
Answer: Active RFID contains a transmitter and requires an internal power source in order to operate. Passive RFID does not have an internal power supply and needs to draw power from a reader or scanner in order to become functional. Health Link uses PASSIVE RFID technology.

Question: How close does the Health Link scanner have to be to my Health Link microchip in order to retrieve my 16 digit number?
Answer: The scanner needs to be within 3-6 inches from the back of the upper right arm to retrieve the 16-digit identification number.
